CERES is delving into the translation and reception history of one of the most famous song texts ever written: Eugène Pottier’s 1871 “l’internationale”.

The image is a scan of a poster in possession of the IISG, Amsterdam. We, nor the IISG, own the copyright of the image. In the poster Pottier is depicted writing lyrics. Underneath him is written “we are determined to realize international communism.” The poster dates from 1972.
